Scientists have discovered that schizophrenia sufferers are not fooled by a visual illusion and are able to judge it more accurately than non-schizophrenic observers.

Their interpretation seems to be that this is indicative of ultra-low-level differences between schizophrenic and non-schizophrenic brains, and that those ultra-low-level differences (context is less influential) are responsible for the other symptoms of schizophrenia (not knowing wtf is going on). It is, however, totally possible that the high-level symptoms (not knowing wtf is going on) place added pressure on the low level systems, impairing their ability to determine context.

Thanks for the link.
